Creating beautiful shadow effect using Paint Shop Pro 9 (Part 1)
Currently, many web sites have the text and images or picture that was given by the effect in order to be seen more beautiful. One of them by giving the effect of shadow under the object, as though the object is in the top of the glass. There are many different ways or techniques to create the effect with Image Processing Software such as Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. This time I tried to explain the easy way to create a glass shadow effect for the text using Paint Shop Pro v9.
There are some terms that need to be understood to create a shadow text effect on the glass, for example Layer and Masking.
Step 1
Open a new 400X200 pixel image with a white background.
Step 2
Add a new Raster layer to this image.
Step 3
Click on the Text tool and put the text at the left of the image. Example Arial font with 48 pt size in bold style, don't forget to select 'Selection' in Create as:.
And then, Click on the Fill tool , select some colors one by one from the Materials Palette to each text.
Step 4Duplicate current Layer.
Click on the Deformation tool , drag the text down. You can use the Deformation tool if you want to change the shape of the gradient filled text. Remember, to skew the text, press the SHIFT key.
Step 5
Click Image menu and select Flip.
Step 6
Click on the Selection tool and drag to gradient filled text.
Then, select New mask layer, click Show selection.
Step 7
Click on the Fill tool , select Swatches (Gradient color) from the Materials Palette and set the direction to 0 Angle in "Materials Properties", and put in the text.
Step 8
Change the opacity of the layer (in Layer panel) that contains the gradient filled text to 50.
The final result show resemble the image below.
